Walmart Has a Starbucks Copycat for Less Than Half the Price—and Fans Say It’s Even Better

Walmart has been making a name for itself in the baked goods category this year. The latest bakery drop had fans asking, “How is this that good?”

The retail giant (with the best mom-approved frozen meals) has been quietly releasing some seriously good copycats, from a beloved KFC breakfast item to a cola that tastes better than Coke. And it turns out there’s a Starbucks copycat at Walmart, too. 

It’s in the bakery, and it’s one of our favorite Starbucks treats.

Walmart’s Bettergoods Birthday Cake Cake Pops

We’ve been big fans of Walmart’s private label since it launched last year, and the Bettergoods Birthday Cake Cake Pops may be the best product from the label yet. They feature a very similar flavor profile to the Birthday Cake Pop sold at Starbucks, but these are less than half the price.

Both cake pops have a vanilla cake base, and while the Starbucks treat features a pale pink exterior, both are described as using a chocolatey coating. For extra birthday flair, the Walmart copycat is studded with multicolor sprinkles instead of Starbucks’ white sprinkles.

With no artificial flavors or colors, these cake pops are a simple but delicious treat, and Walmart shoppers are raving in the online reviews with fans claiming they’re “almost a Starbucks dupe.”

“I don’t normally write reviews, but I tried this today and they’re really tasty,” said Walmart shopper @Chloe.

“My daughter loves these cake pops,” said another fan. “They’re so tasty and taste just like Starbucks cake pops. They’re so moist and delicious. So good I had to buy a second pack for the kids.”

And compared to Walmart’s other brand, Marketside, several shoppers said these cake pops are much better.

“They are the closest thing to Starbucks cake pops I have found,” said Walmart shopper @Selena. “Way better than the Marketside brand! I am addicted to Starbucks cake pops, and these definitely are a good replacement when I can’t get to Starbucks!”

The best part about this copycat is the price. Bettergoods Birthday Cake Cake Pops are sold in 4-pack containers for just under $6 at $5.94 (though prices vary depending on region). Just one Starbucks cake pop will set you back around $3.50.
