Taco Bell Just Quietly Brought Back This Fan-Favorite Menu Item

Key Takeaways

  • Taco Bell has brought back a limited-time menu item inspired by street vendor flavors.
  • The menu favorite, last available in 2024, is returning due to strong fan demand.
  • It can be ordered à la carte starting around $5 for two or as part of the Luxe Craving Box, which includes sides and a drink.

It seems like we get new items from Taco Bell every other day. Just this year, the Tex-Mex chain rolled out new Milk Bar Birthday Cake Churros, Loaded Steak & Jalapeño Topped Fries, a first-of-its-kind burrito, a value meal with Tony Hawk, and so much more.

If you thought Taco Bell may have maxed out on the new menu items this year, you thought wrong. While the restaurant has had a busy 2025, it still has a few tricks up its sleeve that will have customers’ mouths watering—especially with its most recent menu addition.

On Aug. 14, Taco Bell announced the return of the fan favorite Cheesy Street Chalupa. The popular innovation will be available for a limited time nationwide.

Taco Bell Is Bringing Back Cheesy Street Chalupas for a Limited Time

Taco Bell

Cheesy Street Chalupas are back on Taco Bell’s menu for the first time since being briefly introduced in 2024. The return of the item is long-awaited by fans who claim it’s “the best thing Taco Bell has ever done” since the Chalupa’s original debut in 1999.

The Cheesy Street Chalupas are inspired by the traditional tacos made by street vendors. Their unmatched flavor is thanks to fresh onions, cilantro, your choice of roasted chicken or marinated steak, plus tangy Jalapeño Ranch sauce. These ingredients are all tucked inside a soft-and-crunchy shell stuffed with mozzarella and pepper Jack cheese, fried together. The creation is inspired by the 2016 Quesalupa, another fan favorite because of its crispy shell and plenty of melted cheese.

For those craving the foil-wrapped chalupas, they’re available to purchase as we speak. Fans can buy a bundle of two Cheesy Street Chalupas for around $5.49. What’s more, the LTO will also be featured in the Luxe Craving Box, which features two Cheesy Street Chalupas, a Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito, chips and nacho cheese sauce, and a medium fountain drink for $9.

If you’re a long-time Taco Bell fan, you know that the return of this popular item won’t be around forever, so enjoy its cheesy goodness while you can.
