Sonic Has 2 Brand-New Items on the Menu

It’s officially the time of year when restaurants are rolling out their long-awaited fall menus. The latest in the lineup to unveil its seasonal menu is Sonic Drive-In–and, surprisingly, it seems as though the brand is taking a page out of the Starbucks playbook. 

The fast food chain is known for its old-school drive-in restaurant feeling and vast menu featuring burgers, fries, shakes, and elevated beverage options. While it’s not a coffee chain by any stretch, it certainly is stepping up its game to try and join in on the seasonal fun to keep up with the likes of Dunkin, Peet’s, and Dutch Bros. 

This year, Sonic is brewing up something festive for the holiday season, and it’s giving Starbucks’ fall menu some competition. 

Sonic Introduces New Salted Caramel Toffee Collection

Sonic is introducing two new items to its menu that have us more than ready for the fall season. Its new Salted Caramel Toffee Collection features a drink full of caffeine and autumnal flavors, accompanied by a tasty treat to enjoy alongside it. 

The first new item hitting drive-thrus nationwide is the Salted Caramel Toffee Iced Coffee. It’s made with smooth cold brew, salted caramel, and toffee, which gets poured over Sonic’s signature ice. Topped with creamy cold foam and sprinkled with salted toffee pieces, it’s a delightful drink that will give you energy to get through the day while satisfying your seasonal cravings. 

The chain is also releasing Salted Caramel Toffee Croissant Bites, flaky and caramel-toffee sugar-dusted takes on the classic doughy pastry. Whether you’re dunking it in your coffee or sharing it with a fellow autumn enthusiast, you can’t go wrong with ordering this delectable treat. 

The Salted Caramel Toffee Iced Coffee starts at $2.99 for a 20-ounce size. The Salted Caramel Toffee Croissant Bites are part of Sonic’s $1.99 menu and start at that price for a 4-piece order. Both items will be available on the Sonic app starting Aug. 25 and nationwide starting Sept. 1. 

This isn’t the first time Sonic has introduced a salted caramel flavor to the menu. Last fall, it added the Witch’s Brew Slush Float for customers to enjoy. It was made with green apple-flavored slush, salted caramel bubbles, and topped with creamy soft-serve and even more caramel bubbles. 

While there will be plenty of fall-inspired drinks and baked goods to try out this season, the Salted Caramel Toffee Collection sounds like a must-try for Sonic fans.
