Snoop Dogg is certainly a household name, beyond his well-known rap career. He’s made appearances as a coach on The Voice and collaborated with companies, including Solo Stove and Jack in the Box. The rapper has also delved into the culinary scene in recent years, working with longtime friend Martha Stewart on cooking shows, and even releasing his own cookbooks and a range of ice cream products.
Snoop Dogg’s frozen dessert line, Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, contains a wide array of unique flavors, like Syrupy Waffle Sundaze and Peanut Butter Jelly Time, a nod to the classic sandwich and 2002 hit song.
Now, Dr. Bombay is adding two new fruity flavors to its permanent lineup, right in time for summer.
Dr. Bombay’s Long Beach Fruit Cart and Sticky Caramel Apple Ice Creams
Allrecipes / Dr. Bombay
The first new flavor joining Dr. Bombay’s selection of ice cream is Long Beach Fruit Cart. It features mango sherbet and coconut ice cream, tied together with a spiced mango swirl and chunks of pineapple. A nod to the fruit carts found on the streets of Long Beach, the frozen dessert offers a fruity and refreshing flavor that complements creamy coconut.
The second Snoop Dogg-approved flavor is Sticky Caramel Apple. Punchy green apple sherbet meets a decadent caramel ice cream, with ribbons of salted caramel and crunchy peanuts.
The new ice creams are hitting Walmart stores nationwide now, but it may take a few days before your nearest Walmart has them stocked. To be sure, visit the Dr. Bombay website to find retailers near you. Given how quickly previous launches sold out, we have a feeling these will also fly off the shelves.
Luckily, I got to try the new ice creams before they rolled out, and here’s my honest review.
My Honest Review of Dr. Bombay’s New Ice Cream Flavors
As an avid ice cream fan, I was more than happy to try the new additions. I opened the pint of Long Beach Fruit Cart ice cream first. The spiced swirl, which contains blended mango and chili powder, brings an unexpected warmth that works surprisingly well. My pint seemed to be lacking the pineapple chunks, but it was still a tasty dessert that would be perfect for warm summer days.
The Sticky Caramel Apple was definitely my favorite of the two. If you’re a fan of caramel apples, you’ll want to snag a pint as soon as possible. With a perfect balance of sweet and sour, plus the added texture from the peanuts, the Sticky Caramel Apple ice cream hits all the right notes.
For those who prefer simpler ice cream flavors, these might not be worth adding to your shopping list. But if you’re up for a unique dessert experience, Dr. Bombay’s new pints will definitely do the trick.
