Pedro Pascal is the king of Hollywood fantasy franchises, from his “Game of Thrones” days to his breakout starring role in the world of Star Wars for “The Mandalorian” to his most recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
Since his face is currently on specialty milk jugs to promote the Marvel movie, it makes sense that the internet has recently rediscovered Pedro Pascal’s favorite cereal—and it’s a classic childhood breakfast brand to boot. But “The Fantastic Four” star doesn’t even need a bowl for this nostalgic treat. He said he can eat it by the boxful—with no milk.
Pedro Pascal’s Favorite Nostalgic Childhood Cereal
Pascal absolutely loves Cap’n Crunch. In fact, he once told GQ it’s one of the 10 things he can’t live without, right up there with deodorant and an iPad. You can see his true obsession with the cereal in the interview right as he opens the box and tears open the interior bag. Smiling, he asks, “I mean, who doesn’t want to have a little Cap’n Crunch?”
He even told his Reddit fans during an Ask Me Anything that he’s “capable of eating an entire box of it without any milk.”
But why does Pascal love Cap’n Crunch so much? That signature caramel flavor. In a “Hot Ones” interview, host Sean Evans asked Pascal why Cap’n Crunch is so superior to other breakfast cereals, to which Pedro replied, “Cap’n Crunch is just so tasty. The taste—like what is that taste? It’s like caramel?” In the GQ interview, he referred to the flavor as “caramel, popcorn, childhood, butter.”
He’s right. The sweetened corn and oat cereal features two prominent flavors: brown sugar and butter. And, according to the ingredient list, there’s also molasses in Cap’n Crunch, which could be why the flavor is so rich compared to a typical caramel.
We adore Cap’n Crunch as much as Pascal—and the Allrecipes community loves to incorporate it into new dishes, from over-the-top desserts to savory dinner entrées. Crush it up for breaded chicken tenders or shrimp or swap it in for rice cereal in those beloved marshmallow-cereal squares. Or you could just keep it classic and enjoy straight out of the box like Pascal.
