Krispy Kreme Brought Back a Fan-Favorite Flavor—and You Can Try It For Free

The new “Superman” is soaring into movie theaters this month, and the DC-inspired food collaborations have already begun, from Keebler’s new Fudge Stripes to Dairy Queen’s Superman Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard. Now, Krispy Kreme is getting in on the action and releasing its take on the iconic superhero.

Even better: The new menu features the return of a rare, fan-favorite icing flavor.

Krispy Kreme’s New Hungry for Heroes Doughnuts

Krispy Kreme just launched three first-of-its-kind doughnuts in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery and the new “Superman” film. The Hungry for Heroes Collection celebrates iconic DC superheroes, including Superman himself, as well as Wonder Woman and Batman.

Each of the character-inspired doughnuts has a unique flavor and design: 

• Superman Doughnut: This unglazed shell is filled with white Kreme and decorated with blue icing, sprinkles, and Superman flying through a buttercreme cloud.
• Batman Doughnut: This unglazed shell features a cookies-and-Kreme filling, black chocolate glaze, and bat signal on top. 
• Wonder Woman Doughnut: This Original Glazed doughnut is covered in a red raspberry-flavored icing and topped with sprinkles and the Wonder Woman logo and belt. 

The Wonder Woman Doughnut is special because the red raspberry-flavored icing is not on Krispy Kreme’s classic menu. It usually appears on Valentine’s Day doughnuts and other seasonal offerings. This year has been all about Krispy Kreme’s strawberry flavor, so if you’re a raspberry fan, don’t miss the chance to enjoy this icing.

The Hungry for Heroes doughnuts are available individually or by the dozen in a custom-designed box at Krispy Kreme locations nationwide. Additionally, six-pack boxes of the superhero doughnuts are available at select grocery stores and retailers. And, if you don’t know which doughnut to try, you can sample one for free later this month.

From July 24 to 27, fans can get a free doughnut with any in-store purchase at participating Krispy Kreme locations by presenting proof of a movie ticket receipt, wearing DC merchandise, or simply showing enthusiasm for a DC superhero. However, the deal is only available while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme’s collaboration with the “Superman” movie joins this summer’s season of blockbuster collaborations, from TruMoo’s Marvel-inspired milk to M&M’s “Jurassic World” treat. The Hungry for Heroes collection at Krispy Kreme continues the summer box office fun, and we’re excited for a super delicious July.
