General Mills Is Releasing a New First-Of-Its-Kind Cereal

They say cereal is the “breakfast of champions,” and while they’re typically referring to a box of Wheaties, today’s champions tend to enjoy more fun offerings. Super Bowl-winning brothers Travis and Jason Kelce shared their love for Reese’s Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms on an episode of their podcast “New Heights,” which led General Mills to create the 2024 breakfast of champions: the Kelce Mix.

The cereal mix combined the Kelce’s three favorites all in one box for a breakfast like no other. Now, with the NFL teams about to kick off their own training camps, General Mills is hosting its second Cereal Training Camp with a whole new group of footballing stars.

This year, it’s all about bringing the fun and swagger to breakfast time, as General Mills has called on three wide receivers (and notorious end zone performers) for this year’s Cereal Training Camp. Cincinnati Bengal Ja’Marr Chase, Minnesota Viking Justin Jefferson, and Detroit Lion Amon-Ra St. Brown have teamed up to launch limited-edition boxes of General Mills’ best-loved cereals. Additionally, Jefferson, one of the stars of Netflix’s popular “Receiver” series, is getting his very own cereal mix.

General Mills Is Releasing 5 New Cereals

After releasing the limited-edition Griddy Toast Crunch, aka special boxes of Jefferson’s favorite cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch, the wide receiver is mixing the beloved cinnamon cereal with another one of his favorites. The new “Jettas Mix,” named after Jefferson’s nickname, is a combination of the fan-favorite Frosted Lemon Cheerios and recently introduced Cinnamon Toast Crunch Strawberry

“It’s a winning combo of that fresh, lemony vibe and the sweet hit of strawberry Cinnadust for a flavor you won’t want to fumble,” Jefferson said in a press release.

In addition to the brand-new Jettas Mix, Jefferson and his famous Griddy dance will be featured on limited-edition boxes of classic Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Amon-Ra St. Brown’s viral headstand celebration will be featured on new boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios. And, even though Ja’Marr Chase is also known for hitting the Griddy as a touchdown dance, the Bengals receiver will be seen on boxes of Lucky Charms doing a “Lucky Strut.” The three receivers are also coming together for special Reese’s Puffs boxes.

While the five new cereals will be available at retailers nationwide, General Mills is releasing special Walmart-exclusive collector’s Reese’s Puffs cereal boxes, which include custom trading cards and a Bluetooth speaker. Those exclusive boxes will go on sale on Walmart.com on Sept. 4 and be available while supplies last.

Otherwise, football fans can get their hands on the new Jettas Mix and four limited-edition boxes at grocery stores beginning in August—just in time for the NFL season to begin. Jefferson, St. Brown, and Chase may not be champions just yet, but who knows? Maybe this breakfast is all they need to make it to Super Bowl LX.
