Chips Ahoy Is Releasing a First-Of-Its-Kind Cookie and the Flavor Is Stranger Than You Think

The brand continues to impress with new flavor innovations, from a cinnamon bun-flavored cookie to cookies inspired by ice cream sandwiches. Chips Ahoy even ventured outside the cookie jar, releasing soft-baked blondie bites earlier this year.

But the latest addition to the cookie lineup will appeal to fans of a popular Netflix show, with a brand-new flavor that is a bit…strange.

Chips Ahoy’s New ‘Stranger Things’ Cookie Is Coming to Stores Nationwide

Chips Ahoy is releasing a new cookie to celebrate the final season of “Stranger Things.” It’s a collaboration we didn’t expect, but it certainly has us intrigued because it’s a first-of-its-kind release for the brand. The Chips Ahoy x Stranger Things Limited-Edition Cookie features Chips Ahoy’s first-ever fruit-flavored filling.

Inspired by the Upside Down, a dark alternate dimension in the show, the rich chocolatey cookies are studded with fudge chips and feature a vibrant red filling that represents the red Rifts in the Upside Down. Even better: It’s strawberry-flavored for a chocolate-covered strawberry vibe.

The traditional tray pack is priced at $5.79, and because the show is set in the 1980s, Chips Ahoy is returning to its retro packaging for this limited-time release. The 80s-inspired sleeve even glows in the dark. There will also be smaller 2-count packs, which are perfect for snacking or as a candy alternative for Halloween trick-or-treaters!

In a press release, Chips Ahoy confirmed that the new flavor will be available in stores by August 11, but if you can’t wait until then, a special pre-sale will open on July 21. However, this early access is only available to the first 1,500 people, so don’t wait to order.
