Chick-fil-A Just Quietly Released 2 All-New Sandwiches

Key Takeaways

  • Chick-fil-A officially launched its summer menu on June 9.
  • Along with the returning fan-favorite shake, the chain is bringing two new sandwiches to menus.
  • The sandwiches are currently being tested in two markets in the U.S.

While some fast food restaurants release new menu items monthly—or even more often than that (cough, cough Taco Bell)—the minds over at Chick-fil-A tend to take a little extra time to perfect their chicken offerings. Sure, we may see a new beverage or milkshake pop up on menus, but a new chicken sandwich is few and far between—typically only occurring about once a year.

If we look at the chicken chain’s release pattern, Chick-fil-A usually debuts a new sandwich in the summer. In 2023, it released the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, then last summer it launched a Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich. As of June 9, Chick-fil-A’s summer menu is officially available with the return of the Peach Milkshake, as well as a new Peach Frosted Lemonade.

However, notably absent are any new chicken sandwiches.

While Chick-fil-A didn’t announce a new chicken sandwich flavor, or bring back one of its previous summer favorites, it did quietly begin testing two new sandwiches in select U.S. markets. Now through July 19, Chick-fil-A is testing a new Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich and Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich.

Chick-fil-A Testing Jalapeño Ranch Club and Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

The fast food chain is testing the new Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich exclusively in Salt Lake City, Utah, and testing the new Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich at restaurants in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A’s Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich features a chicken filet—in Original, Spicy, or Grilled—pepper Jack cheese, caramelized onion-flavored bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickled jalapeños. The sandwich is served on a toasted buttermilk ranch bun and includes a side of Jalapeño Ranch Sauce to tie the flavors together.

Chick-fil-A

The Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich is made with a chicken filet—in Original, Spicy, or Grilled—topped with Creamy BBQ Slaw and sweet heat pickle chips. The sandwich is served on a classic buttery, toasted bun and pairs with a Creamy BBQ Sauce on the side.

Because this is a market test, the new sandwiches are only available at select restaurants in Salt Lake City and Jacksonville. You can check your Chick-fil-A app or contact your local restaurant to see if they’ll be serving the sandwiches through July 19, or while supplies last.

If fans like the sandwiches, there’s a chance Chick-fil-A brings them to its nationwide menu at some point. However, chicken lovers, don’t get your hopes up that you’ll get your hands on the Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich or Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich soon. Typically, Chick-fil-A’s test items take at least a year, if not longer, to go national. We’re still yet to see the Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich that the chain tested in Raleigh, North Carolina, last spring.

We’re hopeful we’ll one day see these sandwiches at our local Chick-fil-A restaurant, but don’t mind us if we plan a quick road trip to Jacksonville or Salt Lake City this summer.
