Signature tubs like Homemade in the Shade, Italian Cream Cake, and Raspberry Fudge Brownie are just a few of the iconic flavors from Blue Bell’s past. And while we miss most of them dearly, there’s one retired flavor we can’t stop craving, especially in the summertime.

But, after spending countless hot seasons without it, we’re finally getting a taste of the nostalgic favorite again—right when we need it most.

Blue Bell Brings Back Orange Swirl Ice Cream

Blue Bell just revealed the exciting return of one of its most beloved summer flavors: Orange Swirl. It’s basically a creamsicle in tub form—cool, citrusy orange sherbet swirled with creamy vanilla ice cream. But instead of chasing down the ice cream truck to get a taste of it, now you can open up your freezer door and dig right in.

But getting here has been quite a journey.

Last year, Blue Bell hosted The Great Scoop Revival contest, giving Orange Swirl a chance to make a comeback for summer 2025. But instead, Groom’s Cake and Cookie Cake won the race and returned to shelves. At that point, hope for the fruity favorite felt all but lost. With so many beloved flavors in Blue Bell’s graveyard, the chances of seeing your personal favorite revived are pretty slim.

But Blue Bell surprised us with a summer gift we never expected, and to say fans are thrilled is an understatement. “Omg is Orange swirl back? That’s my favorite ever, please don’t take it away again,” one fan begged. “Finally, I’ve been requesting this flavor for ages,” another rejoiced.
