Cheerios Quietly Discontinued 3 Flavors—and Now It Has Some ‘Very Sad Customers’

There’s a lot to celebrate in the cereal aisle right now: new Frosted Flakes flavors, bold Cap’n Crunch variations, and even the return of a retro Cookie Crisp favorite. But with all the excitement, some somber news has quietly flown under the radar.

Three beloved Cheerios flavors have officially been discontinued. So, before you find yourself staring, heartbroken, at an empty spot on the shelf, let us emotionally prepare you for your next cereal run.

Cheerios Discontinues 3 Cereal Flavors

According to Instagram creator @the_cerealqueen, Cheerios has recently pulled Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, and Honey Nut Cheerios Minis from production. We reached out to the brand for confirmation, and sadly, it’s true: all three have been discontinued.

First up is Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, introduced in 2013, which offered a fun and fresh take on the classic Honey Nut flavor. Fans loved the mix of textures—oat clusters, crispy flakes, and signature cereal—all in one box. It was just sweet enough without being totally sugar-laden, and fans absolutely adored it:

“Our family LOVES your ‘Medley Crunch’! Can’t find it anywhere! So frustrating! It’s a great cereal and we’ve been enjoying it for about ten years,” wrote one reviewer under the name “Very sad customers.”

Next up: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, a 2017 addition that tapped into the chocolate–peanut butter craze popularized by Reese’s Puffs. Fans loved the extra “nuttiness” in the peanut butter pieces and the perfect balance of chocolaty richness, making the cereal’s departure even harder.

“I’m sad to see that this flavor is being discontinued,” one reviewer wrote. “Both my son and I eat it every day for breakfast. Please consider putting it back into production.”

And finally, Honey Nut Cheerios Minis. Let’s be honest—everything is better in mini form, and this cereal proved it. Even though we’ve been eating Honey Nut Cheerios for decades, the miniature version—released just last year—felt like a totally new cereal experience.

“Me and my husband both swear they’re better than the OG Honey Nut Cheerios,” one customer claimed. Still, that wasn’t enough for it to stick around. After a brief run on shelves, the Minis disappeared before most fans had time to stock up—or say goodbye.

While we’re sad to see these flavors go, Cheerios’ most passionate fans are taking it even harder. Many have flooded the brand’s review section with pleas and protests, asking, “Why? Why? Why?” and writing “DISAPPOINTED IN YOU.” A bit harsh, you could say.

After all, with so many new products rolling out—like Cheerios Protein Cookies & Creme, Cheerios Protein Bars, and the seasonal Frosted Lemon Cheerios—it’s no surprise the brand needed to make room. Cheerios has dozens of varieties in its rotation, and every now and then, even a favorite has to move aside.

So, if you spot any of the discontinued flavors still lingering on shelves, grab them while you can—they might just become collector’s items soon.
